Kristin Cruikshank - Owner

Teaches Acro, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap & Solos

Miss Kristin has been dancing for 24 years and has 8 years of teaching experience with children and adults of all ages. She spent the majority of her dance career at Dance Centre of Malden, where she assisted for five years and was the acrobatics teacher for four years. Upon graduating from Malden High School, she attended Salem State University where she earned her minor in Dance. While at Salem State she choreographed for Repertory Dance Theatre and performed for Salem State Dance Ensemble. Miss Kristin is trained in and teaches many styles of dance but her favorite to teach has always been acrobatics. Owning a dance studio has always been her dream since she was a child and now getting to turn that dream into a reality with her best friends has been the experience of a lifetime. Miss Kristin has always cared passionately about her students and hopes they can find a home within the dance studio, as she did when she was a child.

Meredith Murray - Owner     Teaches Hip Hop, Modern, Tap, & Solos    Miss Merry has been dancing for 24 years and has 9 years of teaching experience. She spent the entirety of her dance career at Dance Centre of Malden where she assisted for five years and was the hip hop teacher for six years. Upon graduating from Malden High School, she attended Lesley University where she choreographed for Lesley’s Dance Team. Miss Merry also attended Salem State University where she choreographed for Repertory Dance Theatre and performed for Salem State Dance Ensemble. While Miss Merry is trained in and teaches many styles of dance her favorite to teach is hip hop. Opening up a dance studio with her best friends has been the opportunity of a lifetime and is so excited for the dance year to begin.

Meredith Murray - Owner

Teaches Hip Hop, Modern, Tap, & Solos

Miss Merry has been dancing for 24 years and has 9 years of teaching experience. She spent the entirety of her dance career at Dance Centre of Malden where she assisted for five years and was the hip hop teacher for six years. Upon graduating from Malden High School, she attended Lesley University where she choreographed for Lesley’s Dance Team. Miss Merry also attended Salem State University where she choreographed for Repertory Dance Theatre and performed for Salem State Dance Ensemble. While Miss Merry is trained in and teaches many styles of dance her favorite to teach is hip hop. Opening up a dance studio with her best friends has been the opportunity of a lifetime and is so excited for the dance year to begin.

Mary Morani - Owner

Teaches Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Barre, Solos, & Wedding Dances

Miss Mary has been dancing for 24 years. She first began dancing at Pegge Parker’s Dance Academy in Dorchester, Massachusetts. After moving to Malden, she found a new dance family at Dance Centre of Malden. Upon graduating from Malden High School, she began her undergraduate career at Salem State University, where she minored in dance. While at SSU, she choreographed for Repertory Dance Theatre and performed for Salem State Dance Ensemble. Miss Mary teaches many styles of dance but her favorite to teach is lyrical. In 2017, she completed 100 hours of barre teacher training and is excited to begin teaching barre exercise classes. In 2016, she was presented with the once in a lifetime opportunity to open up a dance studio of her own alongside her best friends. Opening a studio in Malden is her way of giving back to the community that helped shape her into the dedicated and passionate individual that she is. Miss Mary loves bonding with her students over their shared love of dance and she can’t wait to dance with you!

 
Katie Cruikshank     Lead Seamstress    Katie is happy to be returning as the Lead Seamstress for Stand Up 8 for another wonderful dance year. She is a former dancer, who recently started dancing again with Stand Up 8, who also figure skated for 13 years and has been playing softball for over 15 years. Aside from being the officer manager for Stand Up 8, she is also a full time student at Suffolk University studying Criminal Justice where she plans to get her second degree in the major. In her spare time she enjoys taking her dog, Fields, on adventures, and sewing. Katie has also become the seamstress for all the studios costumes. She is looking forward to another exciting year of planning shows and fundraisers and can’t wait for the dance season to begin!

Katie is happy to be returning as the Lead Seamstress for Stand Up 8 for another wonderful dance year. Hannah Cormier     Dance Assistant    Hannah has been dancing for 17 years. She first began dancing at Dance Centre of Malden. Hannah started dancing at one and a half years old with tap and ballet, which progressed to the genres of jazz, acro, and hip hop as well. Her favorite style of dance is hip hop. Hannah is currently a senior at Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody, MA. Although she doesn't dance at her school, Hannah takes part in musical theater and sings in the choir. She also enjoys drawing in her free time. This is Hannah's third year assisting and she is excited for the upcoming dance year.

Hannah has been dancing for 17 years. She first began dancing at Dance Centre of Malden. Allison Mallett     Dance Assistant    Allison is a senior at Malden High school and has been dancing for 17 years. Stand up 8 has impacted her life a lot and gave her great opportunities that she never expected to happen! This is her forth year assisting at Stand Up 8 Dance Studio and she is looking forward to the many more years to coming!!

Natalie Tarantino     Dance Assistant    Natalie has been dancing for 9 years. She first began dancing at 5 years old. Natalie’s favorite style of dance is Acrobatics. She is an 8th grader at Salemwood School. Outside of dance, Natalie volunteers at Bread of Life with her church and school and over the summer she was a counselor in training at camp Six Acres.
